Then I Knew

I first knew I was part of the Military Family when after 8 years of my husband being in the Navy, and 5 years of my husband being my husband – he finally went on his first deployment and I was left to “deal” with everything while he was gone. I made some awesome (phenomenal, amazing) friends here that literally got me through the deployment. Military wives band together like sisters when the husbands are gone. It’s amazing how you can move to a new place and make such awesome friends in such a short time. I honestly feel like I’ve known these ladies my whole life.

So, I know now that “military family” is way more then just the active duty member, the spouse and even the children. It’s the Military Family as a whole – all of us – banding together and helping one another when we need it most.

I love my friends. I will miss them SO MUCH when I move in a couple weeks! But, as everyone says when someone leaves – “it’s a small Navy, it’s a small world.”

It really is, I will see you all again soon!

Thank you so much for joining in! I’m hoping others will do the same. It is my first carnival I am hosting on the site so I am a little nervous. Glad at least one person joined me!

Here’s the address in case any of your readers would like to play along:

Deployment really is one of those times when you realize what “it” and you are all about. It is like that saying about women and tea–you never know how strong they are until you place them in hot water!

    Thanks again for joining in!

Boy that sounded like goodbye! tear. You aren’t supposed to move until at least we resettle our 10 miles away.

That’s awesome that you have that military family. My husband is a police officer and it’s something like that with the other families in the Sheriff’s office.

It’s wonderful that you wives help eachother through it.

WOW you are lucky! I wish we could get 5 years solid together. LOL. This is our 4th full dpeloyment (and many 2 week – 1 month underways) in not quite 4 years… and he’s only been in four years. I found when my husband has been gone the only thing the women who lived around me in housing wanted to do was tell me how everyone’s husband but theirs cheats when they deploy and further insult me because I had no children to “keep” him. LOL. I am glad you found some good ones somewhere to hang out with.
